ViVo NEXT Wins ACTIVA-T Award for AI-Driven Preclinical Oncology Research

Congratulations to Guillermo, Conchita and Raquel!

We are pleased to announce that ViVo NEXT, an artificial intelligence platform developed within the PhD research of Guillermo Canudo Barreras at ISQCH (CSIC–University of Zaragoza), has been awarded €20,000 in the final Pitch Competition of the ACTIVA-T entrepreneurship program, part of the CSIC’s Converge initiative.

Developed under the supervision of Prof. M. Concepción Gimeno and Dr. Raquel P. Herrera, ViVo NEXT uses physics-informed neural networks to model tumor growth and predict therapeutic response in in vivo preclinical studies. The technology aims to improve experimental design, accelerate research, and contribute to reducing the use of laboratory animals.

The award recognizes the potential of ViVo NEXT to translate cutting-edge research into a practical tool for preclinical oncology, supporting more efficient and responsible drug development.
