José Alejandro Gandarela González was born in Barcelona (Catalonia) in 1999 and moved to Ourense (Galicia) during his adolescence. He obtained his degree title on Chemistry in 2021 after work in his final degree project (Alkylidenecyclopropane cycloaddition [3+2] reactions catalyzed by organometallic cobalt complexes) with Jose Luis Mascareñas and Fernando López. In 2022 he obtained his master title on Organic Chemistry after work in his final master project (Helical Polymers as Dynamic Chiral Catalyst in Asymmetric Synthesis) with Félix Freire and Emilio Quiñoá. He is currently working for his PhD under the supervision of Dr. Eugenia Marqués-López and Dr. Vanesa Fernández-Moreira at the Instituto de Síntesis Química y Catálisis Homogénea (ISQCH).
