Anabel Izaga was born in Zaragoza, Spain, in 1990. She received her B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Zaragoza in 2013. She is currently working towards her PhD degree in the Department of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Zaragoza under the supervision of Dr. Raquel P. Herrera and Prof. M. Concepción Gimeno. Her primary research interest focuses on the organocatalysts activated by Lewis Acid based on metals of group 11. Furthermore, she works with different M-organocatalysts with excellent biological properties. In 2015, she performed a predoctoral research stay at the University of Southampton, under the supervision of Dr. Ramon Rios, with the purpose of studying the synergistic catalysis in asymmetric synthesis.
