Sandra Ardevines Asín was born in 1998 in Zaragoza, Spain. In 2020 she graduated in Chemistry at the University of Zaragoza and was recognized with the Gregorio Casañal Poza award by the Faculty of Sciences. She did an internship in the area of phytosanitary and zoosanitary analysis in the agro-environmental laboratory of the Aula Dei campus during the summer of 2019. Over the academic year 2020-2021, she completed the Master’s degree in Molecular Chemistry and Homogeneous Catalysis at the same university and work on her Master Thesis about “Organocatalytic reactions for the synthesis of intermediates of biological interest” at the Laboratory of Asymmetric Organocatalysis (HOCA). Currently, she is a first year PhD student at the Department of Organic Chemistry under the supervision of Dr. Raquel P. Herrera and Dr. Eugenia Marqués-López in the HOCA research group. Her research interest focuses on Organocatalysis, herocycles synthesis and biological studies. She has presented her results in several scientific forums (6th and 7th International Electronic Conference on Medicinal Chemistry; IV Workshop NanoOncología; RSEQ Symposium 2021 and I GEQOR-Jóvenes – 1ª Jornada de Jóvenes Investigadores del GEQOR).
