Sandra Ardevines Asín, biographical sketch

Sandra Ardevines Asín was born in 1998 in Zaragoza, Spain. In 2020 she graduated in Chemical Sciences at the University of Zaragoza and was awarded with the Gregorio Casañal Poza prize of the Faculty of Sciences. She did an internship in the area of phytosanitary and zoosanitary analysis in the agro-environmental laboratory of the Aula Dei campus during the summer of 2019. During the academic year 2020-2021 she completed the Master’s Degree in Molecular Chemistry and Homogeneous Catalysis at the same university and worked on her Master’s Thesis on “Organocatalytic reactions for the synthesis of intermediates of biological interest” in the Laboratory of Asymmetric Organocatalysis (H-OCA). At the end of 2021 she obtained a pre-doctoral contract funded by the Government of Aragon for her studies at the same university. She is currently a second year PhD student in the Department of Organic Chemistry under the supervision of Dr. Raquel P. Herrera and Dr. Eugenia Marqués-López in the H-OCA research group.
Her research interests focus on Organocatalysis, heterocyclic synthesis and biological studies. She has published several scientific articles (Arab. J. Chem. 2023, 16, 104514; Curr. Med. Chem. 2022, 30, 1145 and Catalysts 2022, 12(1), 101) and presented her results in various scientific forums (6th and 7th International Electronic Conference on Medicinal Chemistry; IV Workshop NanoOncology; RSEQ Symposium 2021 and I GEQOR-Jóvenes – 1ª Jornada de Jóvenes Investigadores del GEQOR) and has attended to some congresses (XXXVIII Reunión Bienal de la RSEQ and XVIII Simposio de Jóvenes Investigadores Químicos) to date.
