Miryam Garcés Marín, biographical sketch

Miryam Garcés was born in Funes (Navarra) in 1999. She began her academic journey at the University of Zaragoza, where she ventured into the study of Chemistry. Under the guidance of Dr. Raquel Pérez Herrera and Dr. Eugenia Marqués-López, Miryam conducted her Bachelor Thesis on the synthesis of chiral chromenes, paving the way for new discoveries in the field (results published in Adv. Synth. Catal. 2023, 365, 3234). After graduating, she pursued specialized studies in biomaterials at the Complutense University of Madrid. Although she obtained a master’s degree in teaching, when the opportunity to return to academia arose at the end of 2023, she did not hesitate and rejoined the HOCA group as part of the research staff. Miryam continues to explore the synthesis of chiral chromenes and other areas of organic chemistry.
